hello i need the help of my fellow members again.i found this ring in an antique singer sewing machine my grandmother passed down to my mom.it appears to be gold as it has its marking but can really make out the second number were the karats are marked i can see the 1 but not sure of the other if its a 0 or an 8.i am also unsure of the setting if its a precious stone or diamond.i was hoping if someone could please help me out in identifying this ring.thank you guys for your help in the past and for hopefully helping me know with this piece.Happy Holidays
Might be amethyst? Appears to be gold. There are some great jewelry people who will know more. Nice ring :)
thank's for your help i will do some research online and see if its the one you mentioned.thank you happy holidays.
Oh no problem! I'm not an expert, just based it on an amethyst ring I own. It is a great quality ring, good "find." :) Happy Holidays to you as well!
What a pretty ring. I see that it has been banged around a bit, prongs are not aligned, back is broken, and looks like there is a stone missing on one side. Hard to tell from the pictures, is there tarnish or green in the hollows?
For all the condition issues, it is still a very attractive ring. Good luck identifying it.
oh that's just gold polish that got into there i took the photos before i completely finished cleaning it.i am also planning to have it restored so i can find it a good home with someone who collects vintage jewelry.
i just got it checked out yesterday and its an 18k yellow gold amethyst ring and it is vintage.i wanted to thank all the members who helped me out again.thank you all and wish you all Merry Christmas.
If it's diamond it will scratch glass, I remember wearing my mum's engagement ring and accidentally scratching a cabinet at work when cleaning it....oops.
