Small Hammer with a turned round handle, wide claw with no nail groove but tapered(sharpened) edge, and an unusual removable small striking face that has flat reliefs behind it for what one would think was a wrench. Threaded hole is only deep enough for the threads on the striker(no reservoir or pocket).

    Unsolved Mystery

I have to agree with walks. If you look at the butt end of the wooden handle it is mushroomed from being used to hit with to flatten something softer than the wooden handle. Could also have belonged to a leather worker

"Carpenter17", what I believe you have here is what is left of a "Cobblers Hammer"! It probably had the crap beat out of it, using it for Purposes other than was intended. Then an attempt was made to drill, tap, and fashion a head for it. Just my opinion, and no offense intended!
