The frame is original - despite being painted over. The painting exhibits great technique (I think at least) and considering it was dated in the early 1940's, I wasn't about to pass it up for $6.50.

However, I've had quite a few people look at the signature and still haven't determined who painted it. But when I carefully removed it from the frame, hoping to learn more about who painted it, it appears to have 2 dates --- one from 1941 and another from 1943.

It measures 16.25" wide and 14.50" tall...and it framed with high-quality wood and glass (quite heavy).

Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

      Hi
      B.Taylor
This look like Watercolor not a painting.
Usual they also protected by a glass, like the one you remove.
      Happy Holiday.

Thanks Alan - I put the watercolor painting back in the frame and glass after inspecting it. But since the artist is unknown, I wanted to make sure I could get a good image.
