    Can anyone identify this painting please!

    approx size: 35 1/2" X 23 1/2"

    it is framed and stamped Mexico on the back.
    There is a signature, but it is barely visible

      These always remind me of Elvis! Just as I was reading and thinking they are from Mexico, the signers name popped out of my head faster than it popped in!!! If I do remember, I'll let you know.

      I was thinking it started with an O but it looks like a J ???

      There was a black velvet painting museum some years ago, I think they closed. But there are a few sites that have information on the subject. These paintings are highly collectible now, and fairly valuable, depending on the artist and the subject.
