Telephone Payments Sign White Logo

Often seen in small New England towns and villages, these 14"x20" porcelain double faced signs were attractive to the eye. But the message was clear: "Pay Your Telephone Bill Here." The sign's shape mimics an open telephone directory. The signs were placed at Telephone Agencies such as drug and variety stores who received bill payments and in turn earned a set fee from New Eng Tel & Tel. The Blue Bell indicates a coin telephone was available on the premises. As more exchanges became automated fewer telephone buildings offered business services.
