Found this in an old store Room. Seems mostly intact. It has four frequency bands designated by colour. I am guessing 1940s. Serial is 52/00480. Can anyone identify the specific model please? Tuner knob is on the right side. If repairable I have a place picked out for it in my home. With many thanks from a wet Johannesburg South Africa.

If you have not done this, remove the back of the radio and look for identification and numbers... Generally that is where the real information can be found.

Thank you Dan121156. The back is in fact missing. All I can find on the inside of the case is the serial number. No model description unfortunately.

If you would like to continue your search, there are several good sites, I would start with: AntiqueRadios.com, which may lead you to other sites.
If you have a number on the chassis, those numbers are generally referenced as "Chassis Numbers", not as serial numbers. These numbers can sometimes be traced back to the Manufacture of the radio. Your search could be an interesting one.
