An extremely rare J.R Torreys oil edge dressing for strops. Made in the late 1800's, early 1900's. The wax is believed to be mink oil. The wax is still in its origanal paper wrapping. The wax was used to keep the leather strops supple.

I cant tell for sure but after scouring the likes of Ebay for a year trying to find another I believe that either there is no one else selling theirs or there is none left (with the original wax).

Perhaps someone can correct me on this, and if anyone has anymore info on this it would be greatly appreciated.

I have one of their rare nickle plated safety razors and have not seen the wax. I suspect it would have came in a set or straight razor kits back around the turn of the century, based on the tins of that time I would suspect 1880-1890 ish.
