This delicate little lady was made by Jean-Baptiste-Emile Dropsy (1843-1923)one of the famous French medalists about 1900-1910. The design was made out of a heavy rolled-gold often made and called with the French FIX but I'm not sure about this. Two different hallmarks on the bail. One of the marks (photo3) I think to see a boar's head but it is so tiny that I'm still not sure, about the other mark I have no idea, perhaps you have? Signed by Dropsy on the front, as is usual with French medals, it measures 1” in diameter (with the jump ring, 7/8”), and weights 4 g.
Very nice detailed Art Nouveau Brooch only the pin has been replaced in the past by a metal one what's a pity.
So please help me to detect the marks?
She is beautiful Agram.
I love the way the lily design extends to the back.
Beautiful! As Racer, love the iris on the back :-)
For the marks, I can't see clearly as they are partial...
But certainly vermeil, if it was FIX, it would have been marked on the back with no other hallmarks!
Very, very delicate. I really love them!
Many thanks for share Agram :)
Textbook art nouveau! Love it! I thought the big mark may be the crab for French silver. Good luck with it.
freiheit, antiquerose, bratjdd and vetraio50 thank you all for love.
BelleEpoque you indeed could be right. To recognize marks is one of the most difficult things in dating antique jewelry! But we are still learning also from each other. Thanks for your suggestion and love.
Virginia.vintage thanks for your nice comment and love.
