Ever wonder how to land a P-51 Mustang on a building? We wondered that and this is how we did it. This awesome P-51 carbon fiber clone came from a real war heros collection. He was the recipient of 4 Purple Hearts, a Silver Star and a Bronze Star prior to his untimely death in May of this year. Robert Van Buskirk had books written about him and was a true war hero. This Mustang was just one of his many planes he had purchased in his lifetime and was never totally reassembled after he bought it from a collector in Arizona. The plane was a flying plane when he purchased it, but it was disassembled for ground transport to NC where he lived on a huge plantation with its own private airstrip and hangers. After he died his family saw my ad in an aircraft magazine and called me to offer the plane to me for my collection. I was so thrilled I could hardly sleep until we loaded up our truck and trailer and made the 1400 mi trip to N. C. To
load it up. What a trip that was! Imagine having a wing on your trailer that was so long you had to put it so close to the truck pulling it that you couldn't make sharp left turns! That's a bit of a problem when you're stopping to get gas, food and hotel stops! It all makes for great memories and we got plenty of memories on that trip. We thought we were really creative until we passed another collector who had an old Stearman on his trailer. That was soooooo cool to see and made us feel like normal people, even though we know we are really nuts! It's all in fun and America is the greatest place on earth for fun lovers! Come see the landed P-51 Mustang at #aaaLakeside Storage in Provo along with a huge collection of gas pumps and signs and antique cars, gas stations, etc. it's all Free!

You say carbon copy. Just a fine point I'm curious about as an A&P. Beautiful either way! The Mustang's lines was only bested by the Spitfire. Happy New Year!
