    One more item to post today. This has been in my husband's family since probably the 1920's. It has always been referred to as the "Thomas Edison" lamp, although I don't know why. It's believed that it was originally an oil lamp but was converted to electric at some point. Has anyone seen something like this before and what can you tell me about it? Many thanks!

      OMG! We've never seen another one like it! My husband is going to be blown away. I wonder how I would find out more about this lamp? When and where was it made? Where would it have been sold? What company produced them? Thank you, walksoftly!

      Can you post some pictures with the globe off so we can see if it is a conversion or not.
      You may want to look for sites/clubs that specialize in oil lamps.
