Lucky is that we made it to Colorado and back alive!!! We bought this cool Keyhole Frontier sign about a month ago but didn't get around to going and getting it until yesterday. Of course we waited until it was zero outside and when we left it was snowing hard and there was 5" of uncut snow on the road going down the Canyon from our house! "Murphy" still takes care of the weather for our trips! When we got to town the snow subsided a bit so we thought we could easily make the 350 mi trip w/o a challenge! Wrong!!!! We did fine until the last 18 mi of snowpaked roads. That was very scary. Finally we arrived and the seller had sold the other two signs we wanted before we got there. Nuts!!! they also had poles with them like this one does. We promptly loaded up and made the track back in a blizzard for the next 20 mi until we got back to the Interstate. It was then
pretty smooth sailing until we got to the mountain pass and the snow began again. Now it was a blinding snowstorm and 35 mph for the next 40 mi. White knuckle driving is what I call it. Finally after a long 14 hrs behind the wheel we made it safely home to wash the truck and run home to plow the driveway so we could get the car in the garage. Sound fun yet? Every sign has its own story and this is the "Lucky Frontier" because we feel lucky to have made it back alive with no disasters. Where else but America could 2 nutty guys chase across two States in a blizzard just to get an old outdated porcelain sign advertising a Company that no longer exists?
    Isn't America great?

hahaha...you are lucky...and a bit wild I'd say. Guess you really wanted that sign!

Yup! We really wanted it in the worse way. We have looked everywhere for the red Frontier keyhole sign & they are extremely hard to find & pricy when u do luck out & find one. Then to be so lucky as to get the pole with it was another super bonus as we put our signs up on poles at #aaaLakeside storage in Provo. The harrowing drive will soon be forgotten & we will cherish this cute Cowboy sign. U might wonder if I'm OCD about signs/pumps? Nahhhhhh! There's nothing dysfunctional about a couple of guys that drive hundreds of miles in snowstorms and in blizzard conditions to get a cool sign. Any normal guy would do it????????????

Hi Rattletrap, I am an antique and mineral dealer in Lakewood, Colorado who just purchased a vintage Frontier Gas's Station sign. It is a 6 ft. round one and is in OK condition. The man who sold it to me claimed he found it while metal detecting in Granby. I am thrilled to have it, but have no ideal of the value. I cannot find any recent sales. The last one was 2001 for $1400. Any suggestions?

Hard to evaluate a sign we can't see but based on what we pay for signs Id say that $900-$1400 is in the ball park for a Frontier round sign. They made different models, with different graffics and some are worth more than others. They also made some double sided rounds and they are worth the top end also. We would. LUV to have your round sign as we have a pole for it and would stand it up with our collection. Wanna sell it to us?
