    DJK ‘92 marking

19” that I believe is a composition head and hands baby doll
    Red short hair
    Real upper eyelashes/blue glass eyes
Stuffed/cloth body, jointed at the shoulders and hips
    Head is 12 ½” around
Pouty lips with a double chin
The cloth body is hand stitched.
Her gown is off white with lace, pink ribbon and pink rose buds, with a length of 35”. There is a velcro closure on the dress and its “undershirt”. She is also dressed with an under garment resembling an under shirt and petty coat style panties. There were no shoes when I found her.

She is from 1980-90s and is a porcelain doll . These types of dolls were mass produced during this period . Look at back of her neck makers name may be there . There 1000's of companies and doll artists making these dolls during that time . Cute display doll , they were called collectors dolls not toys .

Manikin, I found a doll discarded in the street, poor thing, an eye is damaged, if I post her picture, do you think you can help me identify her? I'm thinking it's a 60s or 70s era doll. Thanks!

I re read your description and your doll was made in a ceramic doll making class by a regular person they would supply molds and you painted it they fired it for you and sold eyes and limbs also pattern for bodies and clothes and wigs to you .

      Manikin,

      Re: Beautiful little red head

Her head and hands are solid, I am sure that they are not porcelain. Any idea on how to determine what she is made of?
