Early hat stand from offices of Shell Oil refinery in Brisbane city, I think?
I was given this by an old friend of my deceased Father. Dad was a builder and did a lot of oil company work in the 1960's. He built a few from scratch, the most significant being 1969, the Stockyard Creek ESSO roadhouse 40 miles into the isolated and infamous 'Marlborough stretch' highway (real life 'Wolf Creek') in central Queensland.
I will not re-polish or restore as the only provenance is the logo stencil on the base and the patina is in relatively good shape.
