Beautiful Japanese vases

These very pretty vases are approximately 24cm high. Although they seem to be a pair they are not absolutely identical (fairly close). The colour is very delicate and the gold quite bright. I have always loved them and although we have had them for over 40 years don't know anything about them. I haven't seen any similar.
On the base is "Japan" and "Hand Painted" along with some other marks.
Does anyone know anything about them?
