This tiny vase has survived astonishingly well.....probably because it's too small to be of any use as a vase! Both the satin glass and the design are in good condition though the flat rim has lost much of its silvering.
Due to the quality of the glass and its design being of acorns and oak leaves, I harbour hopes of it being Goldberg! Happily for me it has now been attributed to Goldberg by Michelleb007, who herself has posted lovely Goldberg glass here. Thank you, Michelle.
I resorted to photographing the design from the inside of the vase as I found the silver overlay very difficult to capture. This my second attempt, but it still doesn't show the detail on the acorns and leaves.....

sklo42, your lovely little vase is by Carl Goldberg - and the silver is in very good condition, too! The acorn motif is one of my favorites. If you search on CW, you will see quite a few good examples; I believe IanBrighton posted one quite recently, too.
Here is Ian's vase: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/142908-blue-silver-enamelled-bud-vase?in=442
Thank you Michelle, I've changed the post in the light of your generous help.:-) I had remembered Ian's lovely vase but didn't know whether acorns and oak leaves alone would make it a Goldberg!!
Sure thing! Goldberg used a lot of different motifs on their vases of this style; I have a sweet pea vase, and one with unidentifiable flowers and a wandering vine pattern - I also really like their vases decorated with mistletoe. I actually have a file of images of their patterns, and add new ones as I come across them. :)
very beautiful!!!
Thanks SEAN your comment :-)
