My mother gifted me with this beautiful gold antique Elgin pocket watch today. It once belonged to my Fathers' Great Uncle Jim who has not been with us now for over 60 years. According to my Mother, my 2nd Great Uncle Jim carried this Elgin pocket watch with him most of his adult life. It was passed down to my Grandfather, after my 2nd Great Uncle Jim passed, and then to my Father after my Grandfather passed 50 years ago.

The Elgin watch repair company confirmed to me that the model number is 7/244, the serial number is 11634000. So, this watch was manufactured in 1905.

I'm not sure if the watch is 10k gold filled or higher (guessing 10k gold filled). The watch no longer operates, but it's currently in the hands of an Elgin watch repair company for repair and restoration. Looking forward to receiving the restored watch.

It has been kept in a glass display case at my parents for as long as I can remember and I'm 51.

I, too, have been displaying this beautiful Elgin pocket watch under a glass hurricane display case.

    Thanks for looking!!
    Scott

I don't know what year BB2. But, I wish I did. I'm sure that there is a serial number inside of the case somewhere. I'm hoping to get the serial number when the jeweler opens it for repair.
Thanks for the comment and the love BB2!!

Nice watch. You can open it with knife etc. or sometimes pushing the knob will open backplate.
Here you can find mfg: http://www.elginnumbers.com

.....or you can also try carefully pull the knob.

The back most likely unscrews, like a jar would.

Thanks pops for the info! I think I'll wait until the jeweler opens it. I'm a little afraid of damaging the watch in any form or fashion. Thanks Very much!!
