Just try and imagine the thrill we felt as we were traveling down the Hiway to pick up the P-51 Mustang we had purchased in NC and while zipping along at about 65 mph we pass this awesome old Stearman that someone was hauling from place to place! You never know what you're going to see out there on hiways of America. I'm sure that's what people said when they saw us after we loaded up our new find. The difference with our new find was that we had to completely disassemble the plane in order to fit it all on our trailer and Pick Up. I have to confess that this collection hobby is a real thrill and especially when we find something really cool. We just can't wait to find the next cool WWII plane or porcelain sign or antique gas pump.
It seems like more is always better,, but once we finally find the stuff the real work begins. You know: the digging of the footings and pouring of the cement and putting in all the rebar and bolts etc. no one ever sees that part of the hobby and it's a lot of work, not to mention the expense. Those are the ""hidden costs" of displaying beautiful and cool stuff we find the the "gold mines" of America. Isn't America wonderful? Happy New Year America.
Oh Wow....
Cool ;-)
Happy New Year!!!
