This is not what I usually collect.....but no one's perfect! I do however love rose bowls and am a pushover for green and pink.....so here it is. It is clear glass with a green latticework pattern. Superimposed on that is a trailing stem with four, five petalled flowers. The rounded rim has eight crimps and it has a rough pontil.
I have unreliable evidence that makes me think it may (only may) be Stevens & Williams but I'd be very happy to be corrected. Now, due to the guidance of scottvez, I can safely say this is Harrach. Thank you so very much, scott. Hmm, I suppose it is what I collect then!
Height 13 cm./5 inches Diameter 13 cm./5 inches
really a beatiful vase
As I respect your judgement, kivatinitz, thank you very much indeed.
I quite agree, CindB :-)
Thank you ,kivatinitz, CindB, DrFluffy, Jewels ,Violet Orange, aghcollect, MacArt, and Petey.
Stunning piece!!!
Beautiful rose bowl-- love them, esp. this one!
These are part of the "Stevens and Williams" attribution for everything with applied flowers. I would think that they are actually bohemian in origin.
scott
Thanks antiquerose, you're posting some eye catching pieces yourself at the moment.
Really scott! now I am flummoxed, but thank you for your opinion.....I'd like it to be Bohemian!
I hate to flummox you-- I have to look that one up!!
scott
I've no doubt you know more than me, and my unreliable evidence is a current ebay listing for a very similar rose bowl...flowers identical. Even I know that's only a may be!!!
How sweet can glass get? This sweet!!
It's not my style either Peggy but I would be very happy to own this...just gorgeous.
Thanks for the understanding, Karen, sometimes you just can't help yourself!!!
scott, you are a gem! I've found the twin of my rose bowl (stripes rather than lattice work but otherwise identical....size, colour, stem and pink flowers). Harrach.....page 64 of Truitt One. Thank you so very much for troubling to point me in the right direction:-)
Doesn't that pink and that green look wonderful together...lovely!...:-)
Agreed inky, but it looks even better now it's Harrach.....and thus truly belongs with the Bohemians :-)
I know exactly what you mean....I love my glass no mater 'who done it'....but aways just that little more if lucky enough to find out who by...and to see the exact same piece in a book....now that is exciting!!!!....:-)
So, inky, it's my morning for feeling sheepish! One, suggesting you embrace your own mystery, what was I thinking! Two not even looking in Truitt, after all pieces there are far too rarefied to turn up in this backwater!
Thank you, antiquerose, mikelv, PatSea, vetraio, surfdub and karen.
Glad to help in any little way sklo!
Happy New Year-- wishing you and yours the best and continued acquisitions of fantastic art glass.
