Ok, folks. I again call upon the powers of light and knowledge, (otherwise known as CW posters) I picked this up during a Christmas trip to Rochester. I knew nothing about it (and still don't) except that it's a tie clip, and it's enamel. When I started to research it, I could only find one, and the guy wants $50.00 for it. I only paid a few bucks for this one, I don't see any markings, and it really doesn't look like gold. Can anyone tell me anything about this, like when / where is it from, and is the guy selling his for $50.00 crazy, or do I have something good here? Thanks again, folks!!

Unfortunately, I can't help at all. I am not an expert in this sort of thing, even though I own I think about 200 tie bars (I'm more of a cufflink guy), but I do think it is a very nice piece. Not because of the value of the materials but because of the subject matter. "G Men"? That's awesome! The style of the tie bar itself is commonplace from the 1960s-1970s, and looks very similar to pieces made by the two big boys, Swank and Hickcock.

      Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the comment Mister! I have a few tie clips too, but never saw that one. I just thought it was cool!
