This set of 13 forks and knives were purchased by Sergio to a traditional dealer Miguel de Biasi. It was 20 years ago. We were alone without our sons and the amount of money you can use for this type of thinks is bigger. Also we have more spare time so we bought two artisanal boxes and lined them in red (first picture). We use them often since the vermeil is so good that it is very easy to clean them. Last dinner of 2014 we used them (second picture). The hallmarks denote they were exported since the objects exported from 1840 to 1973 bear a Mercure mark without outline or with outlines of various shapes, the makers mark is that of Soufflot Henri a rising sun/un soleil levant 1884/1910 http://www.silvercollection.it/frenchsilversmithsHDUE.html (third picture), the motif is so French with ribbons and laurel branchs, I found this pattern is Louis XVI Pattern, a similar set can be seen here https://www.1stdibs.com/jewelry/silver-flatware-silverplate/flatware-individual-pieces/soufflot-antique-french-all-sterling-silver-oyster-forks-12-pc-louis-xvi-pattern/id-j_184676/ .
Very lovely.
And a good day to share all things French. Thank you.
