One of the fascinating things about digging for old stuff is that you never know what you are going to find.
A while back I dug this old spoon , and really did not think much about it. I decided to clean it up yesterday, and look what I found.
I am not a real knowledgeable silverware guy, but this turns out to be a C. Rogers & Bros. X12L, 1890 Royal Pattern(if I am wrong, please correct me.)
Here is the fascinating part. As you can see, it has "Andy" scratched into the handle.
It makes me wonder, who was Andy, and why did he feel he had to put his name on that spoon? If the spoon could only talk...
I love this kind of stuff....
this is very beautiful and some history!!!!
Thank you very much SEAN68. Yes, this is why I love to dig up old stuff....
Very cool! I wonder about the backwards N...could it signify something...?
Thank you Jewels. interesting, just adds to the mystery.
I was just reading some articles about backwards N, and apparently they were common on gravestones in the 1700's-1800's...hmmm, you're right, mystery :)
