hello my mother needed some help with this piece she got at the swap-meet
its a bronze cat statue with a handle on its back and hollow inside with rear opening.i was hoping someone could help me identifying this piece.

I would assume this is a doorstop - I found several handled doorstops on google images with other animals, i.e. dog, pig, horse, chicken
thanks i will look it up as ash collector.
What about a milk bottle saver ....
I can remember when the milkman used to deliver milk to my nans home in UK she used to have a dog shaped cast metal one that the milkman would put bottles in to stop birds from pecking the foil lids off !!!
