I'm a lighting collector and found this shade online. I'm guessing its Austrian. It has chunk jewels in the windows. There are no markings. I am curious about what the base would have looked like but I can't find any similar. I believe it would have attached to the base by the recess on the back of the shade. It measures 12"X8 1/2" roughly. The Frame is heavy metal. Any help to solve my mystery would be great.

Perhaps this shade was on a wall mounted fixture.

Wouldn't it be great hanging over your house numbers on a porch? Just a thought.

I just may use your tip to hang it over the house numbers and light them both????
      Thanks...

I think if you light the shade it will illuminate your numbers. :O) All you will need is a fixture mounted to the wall with a square shaped rod angled to mount into the shade and hold it securely. I think if you take a template of the fitting on the shade to your local welder they could fashion a plate with the ''hook'' for you and then you would just need to have your electrician fit it for electricity. Please share an image with us if you do decide to put it up. I'll bet it will make you smile.
      Sincerely,
      Lisa

Alexandriasfavorite - You're more than welcome. I'm just glad I could help. (Sorry about addressing my reply to someone else - I misread the page)

I have a lamp that matches the top. It has a man on the back of a horse and the horse is at a trough that lights up too.

How exciting. It is great to have a mystery solved and CW leads one right back to see the magic. Thank you both.

Just saw this lamp today and remembered your lamp shade:

It matches the description of darinman's lamp.
