      looks like a home-made machete w/ a stamp to me. the stamp looks like it has some age to it.

      Depending on the size of it (and based on the scale of what looks to be a computer keyboard to the left) I'd say it was a butcher's knife: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butcher_knife

      It looks like a butcher knife that was used as a froe (to split wood,) given the deformation on the back of the blade--looks like it has been beat on a lot. Most froes have a wooden handle that is perpendicular to the long axis of the blade, but here is a link to a modern froe with a handle in-line (parallel) to the long axis of the blade: http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/mikichiku/item/1393661/

      Looks like a corn knife. Maybe tobacco knife. Probably from the 30's-40's.
