    These are a couple of the original rivets used on the Golden Gate Bridge back in the 1930's , they were removed during maintenance to replace them with new ones back in the 1980's , they show signs of being sand blasted and still have traces of the original paint.

      I have worked in engineering, Rail Car trucks and I have riveted, its a horrible loud, hot job.
