These tadpoles are actually more reminiscent of snails' eyes, the fruiting bodies of moulds, or paint drips. They have been painted up the sides of the vases after an initial mould-blowing (visible on the side of the smaller and on the base of the larger), and then mould-blown again, I think, leaving them very slightly "proud" of the surface.
I am reposting the taller from around 18 months ago as it matches the smaller, more recently bought.
The taller is marked with a linear "Made in/ Czechoslovakia" acid stamp, which is very difficult to read, and I formerly misread. This is from the USA. The smaller is from France and is unmarked.
21.4 and 11.7cm tall.
I am open to offers as to maker!
I never saw the tall one when it was posted before. I have emailed you an image you may find interesting. This shape, which is not all that common, is one I have linked to Welz production through three other décors. I have not seen this décor before though. It is a great décor.
Nice duo. As Craig mentioned, tall piece can be found in known welz decors. Had one myself but green/black....also had the made in mark.
Craig, thanks for the mail which shows this shape (tall) in a number of Welz decors. I will try to put them all together and post as a link, if that's ok?
Absolutely.... glad to help.
Cool group...love the color!
