    This is the rubbed out makers mark on the gold ring, I wonder if anyone can make it out , my eyes seem to be failing me .

      Yes thanks, I just realized. I didn't get any closer to the answer though but you had put a link that was realy interesting. So Birmingham before 1932, is that the last uppdate in the research?

      Hi I never read the link , but the mark is either 1878 or 1879, I'm going to take it to the jewellers maybe he can read it.Thank you.
