    I just found this 1918 1 cent Lincoln Wheat Penny just now, wow super cool! Just like to share. (:
    I really am happy with my find and the year of the Wheat Penny, 1918 was the year that my Grandmother was born. (:

      288 million minted - can still obtain one in almost uncirculated condition for about 6 or 7 dollars - yours is in below good condition - no value

      aghcollect, I know the 18 is beaten up but a cool find this morning while on the hunt. Pick up $50 in Pennies yesterday, put in some hours too... Lol
      Keeping my eye open for the Big Dog Wheat's.

      I notice by your profile you are a new coin collector - if you haven't already, pick up a copy of the Redbook - it is issued every year but the values rarely change over the years. (it's now issued in paperback too so price is a nominal expense and you can use the same reference book for years) - Basically, you get all the total mintage figures and values based on conditions for all U.S. coins (including an explanation of error types and values). Sometimes you can find a copy for very cheap from a library sale since they update their reference books on an annual basis. - Good luck with your collecting - keep in mind though that I have been collecting for about 45 years now and have accumulated tens of thousands of "wheat pennies" and still never came across the "key scarce dates" - got some "semi-key" dates but they always seem to be in poor condition.

      The good thing was when I started it was very common to still get wheat pennies, silver coins (dimes, quarters, halves) in your pocket change, even Buffalo Nickels would pop up occasionally.

      aghcollect: Back in the days was the best, when coins were made of precious metals. Now hard to find a good coin, with the internet anyone can buy coins without leaving home. I have done so but can get caught up over paying, I learned my lesson. Lol. (:
