    Last year my amazing daughter and I were thrift store hopping, looking for gear for her back-pack trip through Germany (kind of like bar hopping, but no drinking) and as usual I stopped at the jewelry counter on the way out. Not seeing anything that caught my eye I asked the manager if they had any new donations. She gave me a sneaky grin, quickly duck under the counter and came up with a child's shoe box and said; "I don't know whats in here, but you can have it all for $15." ........ uhhh..... my daughter said I blacked out for a moment or so. : )

    I have confirmed the authenticity and value of many pieces, but this cuff bracelet is a tough one. Off and on over the past year I've searched for information by image, key words, yelling at my computer... you name it. Some site do have information and / or pieces that are close, but the marks don't add up. Also, I have yet to find a design with a solid back with an open ribbon-like design on top.

    Any clue as to where I could find some information on this piece?

    Many thanks! :)

      Mexican piece are always great I think. The first letter T is for location and could mean this was made in the famous silvermeca, the city Taxco in Mexico. The second letter would be the first letter in the silversmiths sirname. You can go to this page and read more about this system http://www.925-1000.com/mexican_marks.html. Before 1979 there was another system for makers mark with an eagle stamp for silver. Today a very few of the making you have are identified unfortunately. But the piece is still wonderful, love the retro/modern feeling about it.

      Eagelmark I mean ;)

      And 'marking' not making, my phone is playing a trick on me, sorry.

      By the way, you should use category fine jewelry and the subcategory for mexican jewelry. This is not a nativeamerican jewelry. In the mexican category you will find more nice exemples, from fellow collectors including
      me. Hope to see some more jewelry from you. Thanks for posting this!

      This is a Taxco Mexico bracelet.

      T = Taxco
      B = the first or last initial of the silversmith
      18 means the silversmith was the 18th one to register in Taxco.

      The only hit I get for CGA is: Certified Gemologist Appraiser
