It's a very dark, rainy day, which I love because we hardly get any rain here, but not very good for my photographic skills! It's a nice silver color, though in need of a good cleaning, not the awful tint that my photos show. This I found today while out thrifting with a friend. You can definitely see the few missing rhinestones & a couple of darkened ones, but I love it none the less & my friend will be able to take care of the missing ones easily. It measures 3.5" x 1.5". The pin is just over 2" long and sticks out just past the "c" clasp. It's marked sterling & the makers mark as well, but I can't make it out yet.
Beautiful. Is the word Nordic?
The mark appears to have been used by Eisenberg from 1943 to 1948.

Thanks, Katherine! When I typed in sterling brooch marked Nordic in Google, my brooch was the first image that appears! I would have never guessed it said Nordic! You are absolutely wonderful!
Actually, I was curious what would come up if I typed in Sterling Nordic, lol. I saw another one of your brooch listed on another site, with no information attached, they were asking $200 for it. But the hallmark was listed on IJ, so there you go. Glad if it helped. :)
stunning!!
That's what I should have done!
Wow... This is super pretty... And we definitely love the rain too... In fact my daughter and I do the rain dance if it ever rains in Southern California.... :)
Just saw this post. I have several Sterling Nordic pieces and they are great jewelry!
It is weird though, to see it associated with Eisenberg. I went to Illusion Jewels and read that section. It says " The Sterling Nordic mark and Eisenberg hang tag were on the same brooch, which was verified as a early Eisenberg by Ruth Kamke (long time Eisenberg designer) to Bobye Syverson." I wonder, given it was an Eisenberg hangtag, whether it was just placed on the Nordic brooch. Anyway, I guess we will never really know....
Another NORDIC STERLING!
