1930's Military Selection of Lighting Items / Equipment

I have had this small selection of lighting equipment for a while now and am still unsure exactly what they were used for. I purchased them together in the box you see, all pieces look to be military but there are no broad arrow marks or anything else anywhere. The little metal pieces are torches/lights with little unusual bulbs within, they all work too. I would have thought they were for a cockpit or tank. The tops of each small light twists, showing a smaller hole/lights to every section.
