I bought this vase very early on in my interest in Art Deco period glass. I like it still but have come to regard it as an 'odd one out' due to it's white interior. In fact it was seeing Ian's recent post of his yellow/red vases with white interiors that made me think of it. This one has four layers of glass, white, blue, spatter then a clear casing but remains light for its size.
The rose bowl has only two layers, blue cased in a very thick clear layer. The rose bowl was bought solely for its frog but in the end I kept it, as another example of a colour not often found in this type of Deco glass. I think the vase looks to be a shade lighter due to its white 'lining'.
Vase....Height 18 cm./7 inches
Rose Bowl....Height 11.5 cm./4.5 inches
Yum! What did I say about our tastes overlapping?
Unusual color combination.... Ian has likely drooled all over his keyboard by now...
Well Ian, more evidence, it'll soon be a watertight case!!
Hmm welzebub.... I doubt Ian would ever drool....
Don't kid yourself..... bottom up spatters are a sure "drool inducer" for Ian..... especially in these colors..... :-)
He's told you, has he ??
Let's just say from first hand experience, I know it to be very true...... He can deny it if he likes, but I doubt he will.... he is far too good a man to say something publicly that is not true...... :-)
In that case I'll say no more:-)
