They are approximately 16 to 18 inches tall, and I've been trying to determine where the vases came from. I was told that they were brought over from China during the Boxer Rebellion, when family members who were missionaries fled the country. The information I have was that they are from China and of the Qing Dynasty, but have also been told from other sources that they are from Japan during the Meiji Period.

I have requested more detailed pics, and was also told that there are no marks on the bottom of either vase. I'm also having pics of the inside of each vase and lid, with a few close ups. Is it possible that these vases are even before the Qing Dynasty?
