For extracting marrow from bones , a delicacy in old times & from what i hear it still is in France...
one of these is 1900s the others 1750s-1780s.
the marrow spoon is also a picture back , all around 8"- 9"L..
some of the hallmarks are sadly unreadable but you can make out bits & bobs
My favorite the bright cut one ;-)

Really nice collection. One of your marrow spoons looks suspiciously like a tax dodger. When items went off to be marked, it would distort the handles out shape so the silver smith would need to reheat the stem and hammer it back into shape. This resulted in the hallmarks getting a bit closed up. Some silversmiths took advantage of this and would make silver spoons and whack them 4 times with their own makers mark and would then hammer it back into shape closing up marks so you can't tell they are all the same. Sometimes this was not too successful and you can see that it is the makers mark repeated. You can't sell these as silver as they weren't tested as sterling and no excise duty was paid on them. I have spoon like this. Who cares, it's totally cool, it's made by an 18th century tax dodger.
Your marrow spoon that has a normal bowl as well is rarer, and is ever rarer because the bowl is a picture back bowl.
