This is a Silver chain and Pendant by the Scottish Jewellery maker Norman Grant.
Norman Grant was born in 1943 in Forres Scotland. At 18 he studied at Grays School of Arts Aberdeen, initially studying graphic design and later moving into silversmithing- a process which he combined the opportunity to use the inspiration of graphics in a 3d process. Grant was much influenced by the forms he saw around him, inenvitably these shapes and forms crept into is first pieces of Jewellery. He started making Jewellery in the 1960s.
This is a lovely piece by him. A beautiful scene of a pair of Swans in a bed of reeds on a river in 3d detail. At the back is a Montrose Agate that is set in a Silver surround.
It is fully Hallmarked for Sterling Silver with NG for Norman Grant, assayed in Edinburgh in 1980.
It's a large piece, it measures 3.1 cm excluding the fixed bale.
Swans are monogamous birds and usually pair for life.
