Another example of how perceptions have changed throughout the ages. This is considered a comical postcard subject. However, if it were printed today I'm sure the publisher would receive an altogether different reaction.
Looking at these postcards and their subject matter can reveal much about the political and social aspects of the times. People were far more private back then and there wasn't the media involvement in social issues that we see today. This would explain their casual attitudes towards intoxication, domestic violence, racial undertones, and much more.
I'm against domestic violence! It should be taken to the streets where others can watch & possibly make wagers.
well at least this time she has here clothes on LOL!!!!
Referring to what Sean? Have you been a neighbour & I didn't know it? LOL!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about some salt & pepper !!!
your rumbuddy :)
Yikes, I betcha a flailing windmill swing with that flat iron would leave quite a dent! The cartoon violence reminds me a lot of the old Mutt & Jeff stuff.
Got it Sean. You had me worried there!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!
Sean, I was afraid you were living in my neighbourhood several yrs ago when "Ghetto Julie" from the UK & living with me got into drugs & went berserk. After physically attacking me & a cop, she went to jail. Never a dull moment, even when we want one! LOL!! Drugs are the curse of the world now! The pushers of what is going around now should be tried as murderers! I'm sure many will agree.
I agree with ya blunderbuss!!!!
