This pair were purchased at the flea market of Belgrano St., last Sunday, together with some Moser glasses to a new dealer, he did us a good price for all the group. They have 4cm high and 4 cm large diameter. Though they are hallmarked as Austrian 1872-1922 http://www.925-1000.com/Faustria_02.html they were made in Russia and more probably near Kiev, in the web there are several similar to these ones http://www.russiansamovars.com/product_detail.php?ID=1370 . The third and forth pictures are from the Hallmarks, I would appreciate any information you may have about them, in one it is clear the 3 for silver 800 and in the other the town assay mark that I do not understand. The motiv of the hand engraved is the Beth midrash House of Learning for the Bar mitzvah http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beth_midrash and this were prbably a present for that important religious event, now a days is common to give money, but in that times silver was a sort of money. Thanks to surdf66 it is the Austrian hallmark for silver 800 for the years 1872-1971.
STUNNING!!!
