Hi Jack. I know a little about your sign! Lion Brand Paint was the trade name for paints made by The St. Paul White Lead and Oil Company. This was my grandfather's company, later known as WH Sweney and Company. My grandfather was a leader in the development of the Colorizer system which allowed local dealers to tint paint on the spot to the customer order. This is common today, but prior to WWII, all paints were mixed and tinted in the factory, and any local paint dealer or hardware store could only stock a few colors. My father, WH Sweney Jr. was an executive in this company as well. You indeed have a sweet sign! I would guess the date as late 1930's as I think the name changed after WWII. -- John Sweney
