I recently purchased this piece at an estate sale in South Carolina. Can anyone provide any information about what is a very unique glass piece? Who made it? What exactly is it? History? Any other tidbits? The piece is 14 1/4 inches tall. I do have additional photographs if needed can only use 4 here. The last 2 photographs show the the identification markings on the piece.

The original Strombergshyttan glass factory closed down in the late 70s, but around 1986/87, three master glass blowers Michael Axenbrandt, Hakan Gunnarsson and Leif Persson, started StudioGlass Strombergshyttan.
This company was amalgamated with Bergdala Glass around 2009, and now produces studio glass (some of which are SG Strombergshyttan designs) under the name StudioGlass Bergdala. See here:
      http://www.bergdalastudioglas.se/en/glasbruket/butik-strombergshyttan/
That means this piece would date between 1986 and 2009. The AO9657 is the model number.
Much of this information is from CW member Rebessin, who I would consider a world expert on Strombergshyttan.
There is an interesting discussion here about SG Strombergshyttan:
