i'm not sure, but this looks like a butter pat knife. it's only 5.75 inces long and has a flared knife end. it looks like solid sterling, but it's unmarked, so probably not. A friend has a whole box of them which he will bring over to sell me later. but i'd like to know what they are first. the blade has 'INDIA' inscribed on it. any help appreciated - sooner the better!
Interesting. It seems to be attached the same way as the old folding pocket knives were made. But India???
i've added some more photos to show the construction and the 'india' signature. what kind of knife is this?
They look like a set of cheese knives I have which are laguiole, but those are made in France and havea bee--maybe a knock off of them? Not sure
Stainless steel perhaps if it isn't marked.
Definately a butter knife.
it's silver plated. i can see the brass coming through it. i looked it up and it is called a 'paddle bladed butter spreader'. that's a long name for a very short piece of flatware!
Lol ho2cultcha.
lol I agree with you on that! And a magnet won't stick to stainless steel.
yes, stainless does attract a magnet. i've got several test magnets right here and the knife doesn't attract any of them, whereas it does for my regular Navy issued flatware.
Could be plated on brass which is why your magnet wont work !!
Cool set though , love the knop top :-)
