The table is very unique, has a removable square so You can put things inside of it, maybe for blankets for the couch as it is a coffee table? There are no markings on it whatsoever and I am thinking maybe mid century but am not sure about it. Anyone have any ideas as to what this table might be, when it is from, or who made it?

Maybe a games table? Would be interested to see a photo of the inside under the hatch. Is it an access to the entire cavity of the table, or just a blocked off area under the hatch? Any partitions that might be used for cards, poker chips, etc?

To my eye it looks homemade so it might be a one-of-a-kind DIY piece of utility furniture.

Thank you guys, the table is fully open underneath, you can reach the whole cavity of the table. I want to redo it paint it black and red but I just didn't want to ruin it if it was something someone had seen before. But I think I am just going to go for it lol

I also have a table like this. Have you gained any info on the time period it was made?
