Hineri was one of the brand names of Iwatsu Glass, a company I think has always had a high production standard. They are still in production.
This vase is probably from the 1960s, and typically of Hineri is what I would call pretty glass.
The stripes are so controlled and gorgeous and the opalescent sheen helps.
Like a lot of Hineri glass I think it has been moulded initially and hot worked to give it the ruffling. The rim has been cut to shape and flame finished. The base is ground.
Height 20cm (8in)
It's just a lovely thing.
Lovely, lovely, lovely.
As you said...... It's lovely :)
Lovely Karen!! May we have a base pic?

Sure Rose but not for a few days - I'm not home at the moment. Lovely isn't it!
