wow....
I wondering if it has any marks, it is a fine looking rocking horse.
Very cool ! I have seen these as reproductions and made to look old . Yours appears to be a contemporary repro décor horse to my eyes . Maybe more photo's like underside ? Either way I love him :-)
Manikin,
I will get some pictures of the bottom, will there be writing or markings that I will need to look for?
Jm
It would help to see joints any screws and or signature . It will help . The crackling of paint is common to age it . Usually you do not see that crackling on antique horses . I will await more photo's can you lay him on side and photo underside ?
This is a beauty, thanks for share!!
I am still inclined it is a repro and had crackle added to make it look old. Normally they have real horse hair tail and sometimes mane also along t is not adding up to be antique in my eyes yet .
I remember when he got it, at that time it was freshly painted. The cranking paint is because of the storing condition up till I got it, now I have it in a good stable environment. I researched the name just really can't find much. Shirley Cornelous
Is that name on horse ? Shirley ? Can you post photo of her name ? If it is signed by her I would say for sure a repro .
She made and sold in 1980's so it is a artists repro I am saying repro because I have seen other horses exact to yours in style and shape so it was copied vs a original sculpt

Great research Manikin, the horse on your links is very similar to this one.
Here is one like yours . The other link just showed a horse signed by Shirley as a example of her work .
