    This item is a Melitta 102 porcelain coffee filter. The remarkable thing is, I found this item along some abandoned RR tracks, dumped in a pile with other items. It is 100% perfect with no chips or cracks.

      Until I brought it home and researched it Phil, neither did I, and when growing up, my mother had every kitchen gizmo thingy available. This must have eluded her.

      I see lots of these here in thriftstores and on ebay. They were probably more common here in Europe as the Company was founded in Dresden. Found a photo on line of how they're used, you just heat water....
