I just moved into this older-style home. Basement suite, landlord lives upstairs, but it's secluded at least.
This beast is what I have to figure out how to use!!! I've used gas ovens before but never THIS old. I honestly believe it's one of the first gas models, as it still has wood burning components.
Mostly cast iron.
It's an Empire oven, Owen Sound Canada. 261E Crescent is stamped on it.
I have no idea??? Just thought it was fun! Pretty sure the original... Uh, element plucker thingy? Is still with the oven.
I actually love antiques and have a small collection of statuettes and figurines etc. so discovering exactly HOW old this beast is, and still (I'm assuming fully) fully functional was amazing! And totally made my inner antique geek freak out.
I'm still super confused on how the oven part of it works, though. Once I finish unpacking I can mess around with it more.
I also have the massive urge to just clean out the entire thing but not sure on the safest way to do that? It's not like it's a non-functioning piece that needs to be restored. I just want it clean because I put food in there.
