Hello Again,
Here are 4 of the photos from the sale that I went to yesterday and today. The first is inscribed to Virgil Coudy from William Dollar.
The atmospheric lights and darks are wonderful.
The last one is stamped " Severo Antonelli ", taken in his Philadelphia studio.
They all measure approximately 8" x 10"
I hope that you enjoy them.
Tony.
Thanks for the look and love, Kevin!
I hope that your year is off to a happy start, and just gets better!
"Mr. Dollar, who was known in his school days as "Dollar Bill," danced the lead in many of Balanchine's works. He was the Joker in Jeu de Cartes, the Janitor in Alma Mater and Amor in Orpheus and Eurydice.
He later became a featured dancer in the American Ballet Theater, Ballet International Company and at the Radio City Music Hall, as well as in the Broadway production of Rosalinda.
Early in his career, he became a distinguished choreographer with two successes: Constantia and Promenade, both done in 1936. Later, he choreographed such diverse works as the lighthearted 1000 Times Neigh, which was performed at the New York 1939 World's Fair, and Juke Box for the 1941 Latin-American tour of the American Ballet Theater."
