Here are some Art Deco tea cups from my collection. These are likely German made, circa 1930's. They represent the minimalist look of the Bauhaus movement. The glass inserts are removable from the chrome bases. The bakelite handles have a streamlined feel to them. I've heard before that the mellow yellow bakelite handles on these and other objects of the period were originally an ivory white color that changed to a yellow color after it aged. I prefer the warm yellow color myself.
Although these are very stylish, I would find them impractical to use since the glasses are not very sturdy in the bases. Perhaps you just removed the glass inserts to sip your tea.
