Over 100 years old. It was from a man who died at 104. Was handed down from his parents. Bought it from an estate sale. No scratches and lions have all teeth. Solid oak. Curved glass. Does anyone know what era it is from? Why type of furniture it is? I would like to get some history on it.
A fantastic piece. Curved glass on the door, the claw feet, and the carving on top is all good.
Thank you. The lions are carved and very detailed. They have all the teeth even the small ones. They took really good care of this. Do you know possibly around what year it could have been made?
Nice! It's a shame someone painted it.
It is rather unusual to have that large of header on the front edge. Definitely worth having this one professionally restored.
Beautiful and I agree with AZ it is a shame someone painted it . I would have it restored back to showing the wood . Love it
I just bought it last week. The man's wife antiqued it in the 60's. I plan on having it restored back to original. Is it Victorian, Georgian, Chippendale?
I have not. In fact, I am trying to get someone to move it to my house. I am going to look on the back and at the bottom. It is definitely over 104 years old. I can't remember if his daughter said it was in his parents or grandparents house when he was growing up.
I think she said her mother antiqued it in the 60's. It is oak. It just needs restored.
