Mickey Mouse Ingersoll Electric Pre Patent Mantle Clock

I don't know anything about this clock. I have been trying to find out its origin date etc. It says Micky Mouse Ingersoll with the copyright C below it. Its electric. And on the bottom it says Pat. Applied For.
Is this a pre patent Mickey Mouse Ingersoll clock and they weren't able to put the picture of Mickey on it until the Patent was obtained. I am fascinated and miffed. I can't tell if it works. Appears to be an alarm clock. I believe it was purchased from an antique shop in the late 80's, early 90's.
