When I bought this vase a little while ago, I did so because I thought it was spectacular. Large, it is almost 11 inches and wide. Oil spot above the clear glass application and inside, but plain below the trim. My first thought was that is new, but is marked Czechoslovakia, in two lines. Although it could have been made any time up to 1993, it has an older feel, but have to admit I really have no clue. I decided to post it since there was just another piece posted with identical applications (different color glass), which I had never seen before. I don't know if this will give any help in the identification of the other piece since the applications are very similar, but would appreciate any help in identifying a maker.

it does have the look of stretch, but i didn't know that stretch was made in Cz. Any guesses on who made it or when?
The mark on this has a split "O". It is thought that this two line mark was also used by Kralik in addition to the arched mark. The style of split "O" is found on the arched Kralik mark also. It is also my understanding that in the early 20's was when the name was split in two parts, shortly after the formation of the country. By the mid 20's the practice of splitting Czechoslovakia with either a hyphen or on two lines was, for the most part, not done any more. I am sure there are exceptions to this practice. The Loetz oval would be one exception I can think of.
All of that being said, I would attribute the piece to Kralik, and likely ca 1920-25. Here is a link to the same shape in a millefiori décor.

Thanks welzebub, for the information. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks too for the direction to the similar shape. I've found the same with my pottery that shape is sometimes as good as a mark for identification. Sometimes that is all you get. In my work on a guide for the identification of Mrazek pottery, I talk about marks, molds (shapes) and patterns. You do get all three on pieces, but occasionally you get one (or rarely none). That's when the fun starts!

A couple of the things I find fascinating on this piece are the appliques in a twig like style....... interesting and seen on both Kralik Mother of Pearl pieces, and also on some Loetz pieces. The other thing I find interesting about this piece is the stretch at the upper area, and the non stretch décor below the appliques.
I agree. it is real interesting with the mix of treatments. There seems to be no end to the variations of Czech/Bohemian glass.
